Week 2′s theme was Dawn or Dusk which was a bit of a stumper for me, who works 11.5 hour shifts. In winter this means travelling to and from work in the dark so I was a little unsure whether I’d manage to get a shot off until the weekend. With work starting at 7.30 in the morning and sunrise set to happen at 7.55am the outlook was grim, especially when the week started off cloudy.
Fortunately the skies cleared off by midweek and I was able to spot a potential location as I drove to work yesterday. A thin sliver of colour appears just over the horizon at about 7.15 in the morning heralding the approach of the sun and thankfully this was enough for me to get something half decent. I stopped in the spot I’d found and rattled off about 30 shots before rushing back to my car to get to work on time…well, nearly on time!
Here’s the result, a 7 shot HDR of the sunrise over Kings School in Canterbury.
